CB Richard Ellis engaged Bear Construction Company to build out Kellogg¡¯s 18,000 sq. ft. office space at 700 Commerce, Oak Brook, IL. The fast tracked project included many large scale logo graphics and high end finishes. Director Ryan Collins managed the project for CBRE. Cara Ursetta manages the Property for CBRE. Whitney and Carson Design collaborated on the architectural design and Kent Consulting was the mechanical engineer. Project Manager William Ziemek III and Superintendent Dan Sweeney managed the project for Bear.
Envisionist and Simple Relevance Tenant Space
JLL employed Bear Construction Company to build out two tenant spaces at 130 E Randolph, Prudential 1 building. The Envisionist suite and Simple Relevance spaces were 6,200 sq. ft. and 2500 sq. ft., respectively. Both projects wrapped around a corridor remodeling project that took place on the 16th floor at the same time. Greg Prather was the Project Manager for JLL. Perkins and Will was the architect and Kent Consulting was the mechanical engineer for the projects.?The suites contained unique refurbished barn wood walls, wood floors, radius walls, soundscape wall panels and soundscape radius ceiling panels in conference rooms. Project Executive Ben Miles and Superintendent Mark Harrison managed the projects for Bear.
Our Confidential Client was in good hands with Bear Construction Company during the build out of 121,000 sq. ft. of space at five locations at their Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL. Senior Project Manager Ryan Mc Donough, Assistant Project Manager David Knab and Superintendent Steve Bryant managed the entire project, which featured video conferencing rooms, laboratories, raised computer flooring, over 300¡¯ of glass fronts, modular wall panels, walk in cooler and refrigerated beverage stations. The fast tracked project was completed in seven weeks! SAS Architects and Planners designed the projects and ESD and SR Lewis Associates, Inc., were the electrical engineers and mechanical engineers, respectively.

The 221 N. LaSalle, Bear Construction office is expanding by 2,200 sq. ft. to a total of 6,800 sq. ft. The expanded suite will be on the 36th floor directly over the current office on the 35th floor. The floors will employ a more open air office concept, matching current finishes. The space will posture Bear to add more project managers and estimators to better service their downtown clients. Work is expected to complete later this Summer.
Monica L. Brennan, SHRM-CP, PHR. heads up Bear¡¯s Human Resources Department. She has held her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) through the Human Resource Certification Institute for 3 years and was newly recertified. Recently, Monica was granted her SHRM-CP from the Society of Human Resource Management ¨C Certified Professional.?These prestigious titles signify that Monica possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience to master the body of knowledge in this field, as well as has demonstrated mastery of generally accepted technical and operational HR principles. 2015 Chili Cookoff
The 2015 Chili Champ for Bear Construction Company also graduated number one in his class from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Estimator Jason Goike won first prize among six other contestants from Bear. The lunch time event fed the entire 1501 Rohlwing Road, head quarters office.
David Knab won the Bear Construction Company weight loss contest¡¡ for the second year in a row! David lost 14% of his body weight, 33 pounds, and along with better health, also pocketed the cash prize (maybe for some new threads?).
Susan Hecht joined Bear Construction Company this past January as Director of Operations.
Rasik Parikh PE. joined Bear in January to assist design build and value engineering.
