BEAR Construction Company was contracted by JLL to remodel the lobby at 550 W. Washington, Chicago.?The busy lobby remained open during the entire project-a feat all by itself! Construction highlights are new back-lit wall panel systems comprised of custom aluminum panels and white Plexiglas that supports Cool Edge LED lighting and Cool Edge covers with LED diodes; a reclad security desk with quartz front and top, strategically placed large format ceramic wall tiles, Carnegie Xorel wall covering, new millwork wall panels, a community quartz table and a variety of new decorative pendant lighting LED light fixtures and so much more. Day or night, the lobby offers an inviting, chic atmosphere.

BEAR was engaged by EXP to build out 40,000 sq. ft. of office space on the 35th, 36th and partially the 38th floors at 205 N. Michigan, Chicago. Sr. Estimator Adam Hill estimated this important project. The 32 week project was managed by BEAR’s Sr. Project Manager Josh Christ, Project Coordinator Gianna Scarsella and Superintendent Mike Reda. Town Halls, collaboration rooms and vibrant colors created diverse urban and organic vibes.?EXP, an architectural, design, engineering, environmental and geotechnical company, collabrated with BEAR, and designed the space in house with Executive VP Tim Neumann, Sr. VP Sean McMahon and Assoc. Sr. Program Manager Kevin Kramer.
Confidential Client, Northbrook
A confidential client selected BEAR to collaborate with SAS Architects and to build out a new fitness center, yoga studio and café in Northbrook, Il.?Extensive under-slab plumbing and electrical work preceded construction that included new black iron ductwork, a new kitchen exhaust system, self-serve food stations, custom stainless steel kitchen equipment, millwork, lockers and showers and other various high-end finishes. Project Executive Ryan McDonough, Project Engineer Ben Wiertel, Project Team Supervisor Lori Luna and Construction Field Manager Steve Bryant managed the 8500 sq. ft. project for BEAR.
303 E Wacker, Chicago
BEAR was engaged by the Consulate General of Chicago to improve a 4575 sq. ft. space at 303 E Wacker to be occupied by the Hungarian Consulate. Bullet resistant glass, reinforced steel doors, wall security mesh and other proprietary security features were designed by EWP Architects. 16 different carpet tiles and other hard samples were approved by the Hungarian government in realtime, high-tech communications provided by BEAR. Even with the vast time difference and language barrier, the project was delivered on time by Project Executive Ben Miles, Project Coordinator Mike Chesler and Superintendent Dan Miles.
Bradley, IL
BEAR has positioned itself to better service its clients in Kankakee County and the surrounding areas by purchasing a 15,000 sq. ft. building in Bradley, IL. A grand opening will be announced soon following some interior rennovations. Until then, our Kankakee County clientele is being serviced from our 1 N. LaSalle and Rolling Meadows offices.
